Capital City Half Marathon...done and done!

So, it has been about a week since my last blog but I promise I will try and do better this week! Anyways, last weekend my family participated in a half marathon. My fascination with jogging and races started when I was about 20 years old. My mom started training for and finishing marathons. I started thinking, "if my mom can finish a marathon, why can't I?" So, I did just that. My mom and I signed up for the Flying Pig Marathon. Once you sign up for a race like that it sort of gives you the motivation/fear to actually get out their and train. Needless to say, after months of long runs, short runs, and hours of quality bonding time with my mom (when you are jogging for hours you have plenty of time to talk) we finished the marathon. During the training for the marathon I also did the Athens half marathon, and last October I completed the Columbus half marathon also.

So...when I suggested to my mom that we walk the half as a family she was all for it. We got matching green outfits and showed up race day and gave it hell...through rain and pain, we finished the darn thing! It was fun, so fun that I think we are going to sign up for the Columbus half in October. Anyway here are a few pics from the race.
